Good Dog.

via
I like it all, especially the respectful dog. This interior is stunning in every way and I love every inch of it! Homeschooling a dog has its rewards, doesn't it?

I like it too, and would agree --especially the lovely respectful dog.

Allow me one teensy-weensy objection. I find that brilliant white around the fireplace opening jarring to the senses. And no respectable fireplace would be without a mantel, and this one has one--sort of --but it appears way too high. Perhaps they did that on purpose because it holds a gun. OK, you're right, that's two teensy-weensy objections. ;-)

I love it, too, though I think I'd need a different decoration for the mantel. If that's your thing, though, it is well displayed. Where's the lighting coming from? Love exposed beams, along with the beautiful woodwork. What is the openwork to the left of the fireplace? HVAC vent? I want so to walk through the doorway and go upstairs and down. Lovely chairs. The whole effect is both elegant and low key, as if you could really relax there, like the dog's doing.

I saw this photo earlier on Tumblr and fell in love. This has to be one of my all time favorite rooms, and just the feeling I'm going for in my home!

I can see why this house speaks to you Rosemary it very much reflects your decorating sensibilities. I do have to agree with Gail about the bright white fireplace surround, it doesn't quite work for me either.
