A Gerdener's Perfection

I would never be able to have anything this perfect without a full-time gardener. Real gardeners are hard to find that can work alone without supervision. via

A bit boring, isn't it? A little too precise and perfect. I prefer some 'messiness' in the garden.

I love this, but then I love boxwood that has been hedged to perfection. Our weekly garden keeps our boxwood looking good without supervision, but maybe we're just lucky with our particular gardener. It's a pretty setting and the bench is so inviting.

No. Few gardeners to work without supervision.

Few can afford a real gardener.

A real gardener runs their own crew and brings in over $2,000/week, net. Not gross.

This does not include testosterone-on-wheels-mow-blow-go-commodify-all-I-touch. They are not gardeners, they are maintenance.

A real gardener that works with only a single helper will charge $100/hour, and worth every penny.

Do the math for that. Real gardeners are making money.

Like a good mobile dog groomer, it is hard to get on a good gardener's schedule. Sometimes the wait is years for the gardener I refer. And I will only refer him to a certain type of client.

Same with my larger gardening contracting team. They stay busy. Because someone calls wanting their contact information does not mean they receive it.

Any type of good gardener is hard to find !

I'm the gardener for my home and not a very good one. I've never been able to afford any house cleaning or gardening help. This year we have paid our oldest grandchild to mow our grass. We have the ability to do it ourselves but he needs the money. I'm grateful that I'm healthy enough to keep my own home and do most of the basic maintenance of it, at least so far.

I think the garden pictured is very pretty and it looks very appropriate for the home. I would love to see how they cut that boxwood so perfectly.

I love all of your posts on gardens. The images that you choose always awe me. :)

The bench actually looks like a little gate at a glance, doesn't it. wouldn't it be nice if there was a little entrance right there. :)

Hey, are you interested in exchanging links with my blog?
